Mørkeblå

Mørkeblå (norwegian for “dark blue”) is the main project by the musician and producer Alberto Rosso. His experience starts from collecting vinyls and tapes of almost any kind of underground music, especially black metal, noise, industrial and ambient, which highly influenced his background. He created loops, noises and glitches from tapes and vinyls using microphones and tape recorders. He started to play as a dj in some local clubs in 2008 under the name of pulsarblackberrybush. After he focused more on psychedelic and krautrock music. The project Mørkeblå was born in 2009 and is moving on fast: he joined a noise collective called MDM, together with Luca Sigurtà, Rainbow Lorikeet and other projects. His first collaboration with the artist Sara Cattin, settled between Italy and The Netherlands, gave birth to two audiovisual works that grew his interest in new forms of connection between music and images. The first EP Omicron Rainbow was produced in 2011 by the spanish label Fracaso. He played in many festivals like Club to Club, Jazz Re:Found, Collisioni with artists like Umberto, Christian Löffler, Crono, Kate Wax, Margot, Kuedo, etc.

Two voices, two guitars, two solo concerts:

THALIA ZEDEK (Thrill Jockey / Boston)

ASI FÖCKER (Berlin)

Doors 21:00h, concert 21:30h.

http://www.ausland-berlin.de/thalia-zedek-asi-focker

Thalia Zedek might be entering the fourth decade of her career as one of the most singular voices in rock. Throughout the 80s she rose to prominence fronting Uzi and Live Skull, before founding Come with Chris Brokaw in 1990. Since 2001, Zedek began making music under her own name to high acclaim - her latest record >Via< came out in March.
>Nothing draws as much blood as the work of this songwriter, one of the most painfully honest and brilliant anywhere.< (Time Out New York)

Asi Föcker is a guitarist, singer, sound and visual artist. Her interests lie in delving into the relationships between songwriting and improvisation and sound and words, with her powerfully authentic, moving voice and explorative sounds in order to create extreme moods and vivid images or scenarios.
She has formed the Band Ellaspeed (with Tony Buck, Andy Moor, Clayton Thomas, Magda Mayas) and the project Chicoree, a duo with the sound artist Anthea Caddy.

TUB (aka The Understated Brown)
Thomas Meadowcroft - Organ, voice
Boris Hauf - Synths, voice
Steve Heather - Drums, voice

TUB was formed in Berlin in late 2004 by Boris Hauf (synthersizers), Thomas Meadowcroft (organs) and Steve Heather (percussion). Originally conceived as a \´classic rock\´ covers band (ELO, Steely Dan, Supertramp etc.), TUB soon went on to discover the structural and textural potential of this repertoire, creating new, longer modular forms from the great rock songs of the past. Now, armed with a heady array of loops, hooks, drones, noise and grooves, TUB is a powerful, rock power-trio
standing at the cutting edge of \´iterative rock\´.

DIATRIBES (CH)
Cyril Bondi - floortom, objects
d\´incise - laptop, objects

Diatribes is a duo of hyperactive improvisors from Geneva, Switzerland, since 2004 - is defined by an assemblage of objects/percussions/electronics, a dense and laid sound, a tension between horizontality and cuts, an acoustic hyper-sensibility, a minimal language with a generosity of matter, layering textures and drones in a lively but stable way.

Chaya Czernowin
Recent Music

Two generations speak about recent compositions: in a rare informal presentation, Harvard Professor Chaya Czernowin will share new chamber and orchestral music, and DAAD fellow Øyvind Torvund will discuss his ensemble music’s integration of field recordings of musicians playing in a forest environment, and his inspiration from archaic rhythms and phrases, animal sounds, and folk and improvised music.
