ARCHIVES SONORES II is a music and art event at Studio DB, showcasing boundary-pushing artists blending electronic, acoustic, and visual media. Curated by Avi Caspi and Izumi Yamamoto, it features live performances and DJ sets, offering an immersive audio experience.

Artists include Hoshiko Yamane (Tangerine Dream) and Makoto Sakamoto, whose collaboration fuses noise and melody, creating spontaneous, evolving music. Yaporigami (Yu Miyashita) from Berlin, known for his intricate and intense compositions, explores human duality through experimental beats. The event will start with an ambient performance by Izumi Yamamoto and end with an experimental DJ set by Avi Caspi.

Patiño will perform a live set focused on rudimentary patterns, and electronic tonalities.

Rubén Patiño is an artist who explores sound generated by electronic means and its potential to transform the perception of space. His practice tends to challenge standardized formats of presentation that blend the boundaries between concert, public event, and installation. Solo or in collaboration, Patiño´s works have been presented in museums, clubs, festivals, and galleries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa, Russia, and Australia. He has published on labels such as Anòmia, Haunter Records, Diagonal Records, The Trilogy Tapes, Where To Now? The Death of Rave and Gang of Ducks.

Ross Peacock (Plug Research, 4AD)

Ross Peacock (US/DE) has been called an Oakland synth wizard. He is part of the band Mwahaha, plays on the last couple of records by the band Tune-Yards, and collaborates on far-out synth music with James Watkins of Black Spirituals. Newly residing in Berlin he is ready to blast the scene with some extended synth jams.

Echo Collective

Echo Collective is an ensemble of classically trained musicians based in Brussels, founded by Margaret Hermant and Neil Leiter. In addition to their own compositions and projects, the group collaborates with contemporary composers and bands. Their repertoire includes concerts, tours, film music, recording sessions, and original compositions. Their latest album, Mirror Image (2024), delves into contemporary and experimental classical music, merging with captivating soundscapes. Recorded in various acoustic spaces, including historic locations in Italy and Belgium, the album explores acoustic research in immersive environments such as 4DSound in Berlin and DNB Soundscape in Belgium. Inspired by new technological tools, Mirror Image reflects the musical connection and artistic identity shared between Margaret and Neil, blending traditional and innovative elements.

Several slide projectors, placed on stands around the room and filled with more than 600 slides from Michael Vorfeld‘s collection, create complex visual worlds in infinite combinations. The retro-futuristic installation is digitally controlled. An interplay of sound and image at the perceptual limits of optical and acoustic impulses create dreamlike maelstrom effects with a hypnotic soundtrack by Michael Vorfeld and gamut inc.

Jo will be celebrating her return on stage at Liebig12.
After a year´s break, she will perform some of her crooked-tone songs with her glasambel.
This ambivalent instrument will turn her solo set into a magical performance about hidden and flawed sounds.

A closer look at Jo´s sonic world will be shown in an exhibition about her field recording experiences in Iceland.

Jo puzzles crooked tone songs from field recordings. In live performances she is playing the glasambel, an unique instrument, which she developed to present her music in her own way. In each of her songs she deeply steps into the world of her sound sources and discovers her own musical terrain by falling in love with hidden and dirty sounds, shaping them sensitively and developing a unique feeling for combining them.

together with Frank, she funded Orange Ear, a concert series that takes place in their shop/living space in Berlin-Friedrichshain since over 10 years.

Eli Keszler

Eli Keszler is a Grammy nominated artist, composer, and percussionist based in New York. He has garnered critical acclaim for his solo records and has provided over ten original scores in the realm of film. Keszlers concerts let the audience enter a sonic and visual field of empty cities, visual debris and a sort of urban placidity, made by Leia Jospe’s gritty, comedic and impressionistic videos on large scale LED screens or projections surrounding the performance. The instrumental textures create an immersive enveloping work that keeps moving and does not stop, accumulating to convey a glorious and dystopic western world.

Vanessa Bedoret + NEXCYIA

Vanessa Bedoret is a London-based French violinist, vocalist and composer. She integrates her classical background to experimental production, as a means to shape intimate and cinematic compositions. Treating songwriting as an instinctive process, Vanessa transforms her deeply personal experiences into pure emotion.  She joined Scenic Route for the release of her debut album Eyes, out on 8th of March 2024.

NEXCYIA, aka Adam Dove, is an African-American-French sound artist and experimental ambient musician living between Berlin and Paris. His compositions blend seamlessly with immersive sound design and textural soundscapes using elements of noise, granular synthesis, found sounds and rhythms.
