PEACES SO FAR – Eine interaktive Konzertperformance über die Oder als Grenzfluss, Erinnerungsraum und Möglichkeitsort. Die Oder fließt – durch Landschaften, Geschichten, Körper und Zeiten. Sie ist Grenzland, Lebensraum und Resonanzkörper. In PEACES SO FAR lädt FrauVonDa// zu einer historischen Spurensuche nach Überhörtem und Nicht-Gesehenem ein – und zu einer verantwortungsbewussten Auseinandersetzung mit Flüssen als sensiblen Ökosystemen, die immer wieder zu morphologischen Feldern kriegerischer Auseinandersetzungen werden.
Im Zentrum der interaktiven Konzertperformance steht die Oder als Exempel eines jahrhundertelang umkämpften Grenzflusses, der zugleich stets Bindeglied zwischen beiden Ufern war. Als Naturraum und politischer Schauplatz, als Projektionsfläche nationaler Narrative und realer Gewalt wird der Fluss zum Ausgangspunkt einer vielschichtigen künstlerisch-wissenschaftlichen Performance.

Youjin Sung gayageum.

Youjin Sung is a Korean gayageum player. She is a member of the AsianArt Ensemble playing contemporary music and is actively engaged in the experimental music with gayageum.

Born in London and based in Berlin, Simon Rose performs on baritone saxophone, his interest in improvisation has led to a variety of collaborations and writing.

SUNG ROSE met at the Berlin club Sowieso in 2019. Sung’s curiosity about open form improvisation was matched by Rose’s long term curiosity about the potential of Korean musical instruments and tradition when applied in open improvisation. They have performed consistently as a duo since then.

Karmelgebach has its origins in Stockholm, because there, some years ago, the exchange students Niko Meinhold from Berlin and Roberta Andersen from Reykjavik met and established that they can make music together very well. They met again in Berlin; Tobias Schirmer and Kay Lübke joined them. After some performances in Germany and at the Reykjavik Jazz Festival, their paths went separate ways again; Roberta was on world tour with the band múm, Kay among others with the Silke Eberhard Trio, and Niko and Tobias were on the road with the trio Kokotob. They never lost sight of each other entirely, and so we look forward very much to the reunion in the year 2026.

Ex-Easter Island Head + Sun Kit

Ex-Easter Island Head are a UK-based experimental musical collective composing and performing music for solid body electric guitar, percussion and other instruments. The group plays multiple electric guitars augmented through mechanical preparations and extended techniques, creating hypnotic performances rich in repetition, shimmering drones and melodic invention through purposefully limited means.

Sun Kit is an experimental band from Berlin, consisting of Jules Reidy (guitar) and Andreas Dzialocha (bass). Their debut album All The Patterns Inside (2024) combines spectral guitar and bass sounds with electronics, distortion, and autotune. Inspired by Low, Cocteau Twins, and My Bloody Valentine, Sun Kit creates atmospheric soundscapes between post-rock, pop, and ambient.

A Day of Audio Streams and Soundwalks in May
Listening to, walking in and streaming sounds from remote and familiar places

Events:
1) Friedrichshain soundwalk with Peter Cusack, will take in the streets, green spaces and passageways of the area in a slow route, stopping to listen to and appreciate the varied soundscapes, perhaps commenting as we go. The walk will end in the unique garden of Villa Kuriosum.

2) Evening of audio streams, listening and discussion with Peter Cusack, Kerstin Ergenzinger, Michiel Huijsman, Udo Noll, Carsten Stabenow. The live streams will include the spectacular ultrasound calls of bats from a church tower in mid-Germany, dawn choruses from Reveil (the annual 24hr broadcast that listens to sunrise around the world), perhaps underwater whales from southern Chile and Berlin locations much closer to home.

Screening Le berceau de cristal by Philippe Garrel, soundtrack by Berlin Krautrock legends Ash Ra Tempel

Soundwatch Bonus Tracks explores the music of Manuel Göttsching and moving images in the seminal French experimental film Le berceau de cristal (1975) by Philippe Garrel. The soundtrack is by the Berlin-based Krautrock band Ash Ra Tempel, featuring Manuel Göttsching (guitar, Farfisa organ, rhythm computer) and Lutz Graf-Ulbrich aka Lüül (guitar, synth guitar). Nico stars along with Anita Pallenberg, Dominique Sanda and Margareth Clémenti.

Following the film, we will show an exclusive video excerpt from Manuel Göttsching and Lüül’s live performance of the film score in 2015 at the E-Live Festival in Oirschot, Netherlands.

After the screening there will be a Q&A with Lutz Graf-Ulbrich and Markus Schickel, editor/media designer/sound engineer and longtime technical collaborator of Manuel Göttsching.

Zwischen Jehan Alain und Dror Feiler bestehen kaum stilistische, dafür umso tiefere innere Verbindungen. Beide sehen Musik nicht als formales Spiel oder ästhetische Verzierung, sondern als existenzielle Praxis von Ernst und Dringlichkeit. Dror Feilers Kompositionen arbeiten mit Extremen von Lautstärke, Dauer und Dichte, oft bis an die Grenze des Erträglichen. Traditionelle Formen von Entwicklung, Ausdruck oder Schönheit werden bewusst vermieden; stattdessen entstehen akustische Räume von Überforderung, Stillstand und Druck. Musik „erzählt“ hier nicht – sie konfrontiert.

Jehan Alains Werke wirken gleichzeitig archaisch und modern, spirituell und körperlich, improvisatorisch und hochkonzentriert. Seine Trois Danses folgen einer existenziellen inneren Dramaturgie von Leben, Verlust und Kampf. Ostinati, motorische Patterns, ungerade Akzente und tranceartige Wiederholungen prägen eine Musik, die weniger an klassische Orgelästhetik erinnert als an Tanz und Ritual – und die auf körperlicher Ebene unmittelbar erfahrbar wird.

Barbelo is a visceral, high-concept collaboration between the Butoh masterMarco Nektan and the avant-garde percussionist Stephen Flinn. Named after the Gnostic figure representing the first emanation of the Divine, the performance functions as a ritualistic exploration of creation, the feminine principle, and the„divine shadow“ that resides within the human subconscious. At its core, the worki is a profound dialogue between silence and noise.

REANIMATION ORCHESTRA
is an international open-structured multidisciplinary group of musicians united by their desire to blur the boundaries between the roles of composer, interpreter and improviser.

Through our work over the last seasons, we have investigated what these roles mean to each of us, and enquired as to how we can fulfil them with openness, artistic integrity, and authenticity, both as a group and at an individual level. We present our work through a diverse range of sonic resources, encompassing string, woodwind and brass instruments, as well as live and pre-recorded electronics.

The Reanimation Orchestra is currently formed by seven Berlin-based musicians: JD Zazie (turntables, cdjs), Ingólfur Vilhjálmsson (bass and contrabass clarinets), Marie Takahashi (viola), Jack Adler-McKean (tuba, other brass instruments), Caroline Cecilia Tallone (prepared hurdy hurdy), Guilherme Rodrigues (violoncello) and Elo Masing (violin).

The Infinite Now

The Infinite Now functions as both performance space and social environment. A 30-hour continuous programme from Saturday through Sunday night. Beds, hammocks and soft places to lie and listen will be provided throughout the space for 30-hour ticket holders. Sleeping is part of the experience. The programme moves through dusk, night, dawn, day and a second dusk. Audiences are encouraged to sleep, rest, eat, listen, watch, withdraw, talk and pay attention. 30-hour passes permit re-entry.

Stephanie Castonguay - soft_cuts

soft_cuts unfolds as a tactile, luminous ritual for hacked turntables and their interplay using modular synthesis, named for the soft yet lasting marks engraved through time, bodies, and sound. Using Playmobil-built turntables with multiple tonearms, soft_cuts explores fragmented, decomposing bio-vinyls - stacked, layered, and partially erased - read by altered needles, sometimes tracing grooves backward.

An experimentalist at heart, Montreal based artist Stephanie Castonguay develops a hands-on practice rooted in materiality, listening, and transformation. Through the construction of DIY instruments and the repurposing of obsolete machines, she explores sound as a living process shaped by touch, decay, and unpredictability. Her work reveals hidden resonances within analog systems, where fragility, accidents, and attention become tools for improvisation and presence.

JD Zazie _ solo
is an experimental DJ, avant-turntablist, sound artist and curator.
Coming from a DJ and a radiophonic background JD Zazie has explored different approaches to real-time manipulation of fixed recorded sound. In her work she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities. As a solo performer, in small groups, and in large ensembles, she works in an area which is constantly stretching the borders of what could be defined as DJ mixing, free improvisation and composed music. 
JD Zazie is a member of Reanimation Orchestra, is part of Hic Up (w/ Marina Cyrino, Tony Elieh, Matthias Koole) and plays regularly solo and duo with Heidrun Schramm and Peter Cusack. She is the art director of the MuseRuole - women in experimental music festival, a member of the Burp Enterprise collective and broadcasts monthly on Colaboradio and on Reboot.fm.

Specially crafted ocarinas (Dorrmann-Wassermann ceramics workshop) are used to create mysterious underwater soundscapes, which are otherwise inaudible to the human ear. Currents, turbulences and hydrophone choreographies around the ceramic objects are staged with live video. The concert series “sounding ways of being 2”, curated by Ute Wassermann, explores our interconnectedness with an intelligent environment that encompasses the intelligence of animals, plants and machines.

Lucrecia Dalt pres. A Danger to Ourselves + Jonathan Castro (Live-Set)

Lucrecia Dalt has carved out a distinctive space in contemporary music. 2025 she published A Danger to Ourselves, her most personal and sonically ambitious work to date. The album grew from fragmentary notes Dalt scribbled during tours and the early days of a new relationship.

Jonathan Castro Alejos works across sound, video, installation, and performance. In 2023 he released Radiance Loops on Confusion Unit, a collection of field recordings captured in post-industrial and abandoned areas between Amsterdam and Lima.

Midori Hirano is a Japanese musician, composer, and sound artist based in Berlin. Rooted in classical piano and expanded through electronics and field recordings, she creates immersive soundscapes where acoustic intimacy meets experimental abstraction.

LAKE is a listening-oriented, live audiovisual format based on collective creation, presence, and shared authorship. LAKE [sandbox] marks the first edition of LAKE. It is conceived as an open environment for testing ideas and exploring collective listening through live electronic and audiovisual performance. Borrowing the term from computing, a sandbox describes a space where systems can be experimented with freely. In this edition, artists share the same space and develop the session together in real time, shaping sound, voice, electronics and image through attentive listening. With sound artists Ricardo Eizirik, Flo Wilson, Andriy K. and Roberto Maqueda as well as visual artists Julius Martin-Humpert and Efren Parra.

Psychic Liberation Night: Debit pres. Desaceleradas + Elif Gülin Soğuksu + Victor Burton

Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013, originally run by Miguel Alvariño under the name Primitive Languages as a cassette and record store project in New York City. Since 2019, Nick Klein has operated it solo from the EU under the title Psychic Liberation.

The concert series of the same name takes place with changing guests. On May 30, we present the release of Desaceleradas as an expanded live A/V show by Debit, live coding experiments by Elif Gülin Soğuksu, as well as Victor Burton’s project SUPERJEKTIN´ VOL. 1.
